regarding: Anyone else interested in graphics?
by Michael S. Fivis
Are there other people on this list deeply interested in doing 2D
graphical work for fedora? (wallpapers, handling, icons, etc)?
michaelfivis(a)verizon.net Should start a forum or our own list of some sort.

two new mailing lists
by Brent Fox
I've created two new mailing lists:
fedora-desktop-list - for desktop, UI, artwork, and usability related
discussions
fedora-config-list - for discussions about developing configuration
tools
We're going to keep these new lists focused and on topic, so please
keep that in mind before you post. :)

Tracking bugs....
here's is my example of what a public tracking bug looks like.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=109188
I think a11y and i18n trackers are "good things"{tm} but i don't want to
own those trackers. But if those trackers do get created i want to make
a place for them in the Fedora Triage wiki listings. I just need to make
a space for a collection of tracker bugs.
And I want to encourage someone invested in a11y and i18n to be the
owner of the associated trackers. It would be very good for someone who
is in a position to make each of those issues a high personal priority
to be the owner of each of those trackers. I'm not that person..i only
attempt to speak english and i like eye-candy too much to be invested in
a11y.

location of up2date cvs
by David T Farning
I was looking for the location of the cvs tree for up2 date. I tried
export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@rhlinux.redhat.com:/usr/local/CVS
cvs -z3 login
cvs -z3 co up2 date
and just got a bunch of *.po stuff.
Has the fedora development stuff moved?
Thanks

You development people always look at things in such a myopic way, like
its the content that actually matters as compared to the perception. Yer
totally missing the obvious PR opportunities here.
What better way to say i love you...than with a valentines fedora beta.
Kiss me I'm Irish AND i run Fedora beta2.
And the big PR winner. A release just before the USA tax-day...would
mean you could get LUGs to burn cds and hand them out to the people
standing in line at the big post-offices trying to get their taxes in
under the wire. Can't you see the obvious PR spin involving the concept
of unfair taxation and fedora linux as a generously offered solution to
that emotional and economic heartache.
Successful volunteer movements typically have an eye out for useful PR
opportunities. Maybe its not a driving force...but its a mitigating
one....and something to think about.

Firewire regression on shipped FC 1 kernel
by Michel Alexandre Salim
Hi,
As reported in bug # 108916:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=108916
I use a Firewire external HDD enclosure that works fine with
-1.2105.nptl but not with -1.2115.nptl (which unfortunately ships with
the final product).
Suspecting the removal of the orlov patch or ACPI changes to be the
culprit, as these are the only items in the Changelog between the two
releases.
FWIW, I tested the kernel under a FC 0.94 install upgraded to 0.95.
Regards,
Michel

Question about development languages
by Anthony Saffer
Hello Everyone,
I was browsing the Fedora website and noticed that the configuration tools
are said to be all Python based with a few PyGTK ones. I don't know Python
at all but am very familiar with Perl and PerlTk. Do the tools HAVE to be
written in Python or are other languages acceptable?
Thanks,
Anthony
