If Extras goes away, this would be just "packages that block existing
packages". Sure, if it goes that way (an update requires a new package),
there is nothing to discuss really (other than if the update is warranted,
that is).

That is just "the same package, updated" IMHO.
None of these should make anybody loose much sleep.

[RFE, Patch, Multi-lib] 32bit support /usr/bin/firefox
by Gilboa Davara
Hello all,
The attached patch (which should cover all 64bit arches) enable you to
start the 32bit version of firefox (if it's installed) by starting
firefox with the "--32" command line option.
Before I submit this to bugzilla, I have two questions:
- Do we rather have a single firefox script that executes both 32bit and
64bit or do we want to break the it to dedicated firefox[64] and
firefox32 scripts.
- Where should I submit this patch? Mozilla or redhat?

As I wrote in my webpage for firefox, my SRPM adds the experimental MNG support.
http://mngzilla.sourceforge.net/
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18574
Build may succeed if you install libmng-devel package.

compiz unresponsoive under heavy load
by Chris Jones
Hi,
I'm running compiz just fine on my FC6 system. However, I have noticed that
under load (such as running make, yum update, my email client running a mail
check or just my web browser running a heavy site) compiz becomes very
unresponsive and thus also the desktop.
I've also noticed that if I run the cpu heavy app. at an increased nice value,
such as +15, compiz remains completely responsive whilst the apps runs pretty
much at its usual speed.
Unfortunately, its not easy to run everything at an increased nice value, so I
wonder therefore, if it wouldn't be a good idea to something to run compiz
(and Xorg or whatever it needs) at increased scheduling priority by default,
to make use the user desktop always remains responsive ?
cheers Chris
