signatures for non-rpm files in $arch/os trees?
by Todd Zullinger
Hi all,
Is there some way to verify the integrity of the non-rpm files
included in the $arch/os tree? I'm thinking of the images/
specifically.
If I want to kick off an install I could download the rescue disk iso,
check the gpg sig on the SHA1SUM file, and then verify the sha1sum for
the rescue image. But if I just want to grab boot.iso or diskboot.img
and do the same thing, I don't know of a way to verify those images.
Is there some way to do this or is there good reason that doing so is
pointless?

Beware of the %dist tag! Last release was 0.7.3-14%{?dist} with
%dist defined, so this "Obsoletes" is not high enough.

This looks wrong. The broken deps report is not clear, but the
following should fix it:
Provides: ettercap-plugins = %{version}-%{release}

/usr/share/icons/locolor
by Michael Schwendt
Several packages use the "locolor" icon tree. But unlike with the
hicolor-icon-theme package, nothing comparable owns the locolor
directories. Especially in non-KDE installations, this results in unowned
directories.
/usr/share/icons/locolor
/usr/share/icons/locolor/16x16

/usr/share/java and JNI libraries
by Orion Poplawski
Two questions:
- Who should own /usr/share/java? Currently there is:
libidn-devel.i386
jpackage-utils.noarch
java-1.5.0-gcj-javadoc.i386
libgcj-src.i386
libgcj.i386
java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-javadoc.i386
kdevelop.i386
db4-java.i386
axis-javadoc.i386
swig.i386
jlex.i386
antlr-javadoc.i386
xdoclet-javadoc.i386
and that's just from core.
- Where should JNI libraries be installed? plplot wants to install into
/usr/lib/jni, but that doesn't look like it's used by anyone else.
Thanks!

Bugzilla is unbearable to the point of being unusable
by Jonathan Underwood
Hi,
Querying bugzilla for Fedora bugs is frequently unbearably slow, and
also inprecise. Is there _anything_ that could be done about this
situation. I would imagine that this affects workflow quite badly, and
leads to many more duplicate bugzilla reports.
I wish I had the technical expertise to contribute something, rather
than just complaining, but I don't.
Best wishes,
Jonathan.

Seems like some unwanted files crept in, like .LDAP.py.swp LDAP.pyc
controllers.py~... (not sure about .pyc files).

Where did /dev/hda (/dev/hd*) go to?
by Mark
Hey,
i`m having no problem mounting SD(A) devices but somehow /dev/hda simply
doesn`t exist.
even stranger. the only h named thing in the /dev folder is hpet
(/dev/hpet).
/dev should contain hda till hdz and it doesn`t contain any of those.
is this a bug? or do i need to install a package first?
i`m running rawhile with the latest updates.
thanx
Mark.
