Firefox does this too. WebKit doesn't, but it won't be hard to fix. Not
sure about Chrome. Point is, apps have all the tools they need to use
cgroups to ensure out-of-control subprocesses don't cause the main
process to be killed, and our important default apps (Firefox and
gnome-terminal) actually do this.
It's there a way to make bash launch each command in a separate cgroup? I've
usually got my various terminal apps in the background of a single bash session. It sounds
like if any of them gets killed by oomd, they all would be killed.
Glad to hear gnome-terminal separates tabs. Any idea if tilix does the same?
