Hi,
I'm wondering about the meaning of the arch i386. Is it just a label,
or are i386 packages still compiled to only use instructions that a
386 had? And if the latter, how come?
Thanks,

32 bit x86 use i386 as the basearch in yum, its what $baseach in the
mirrorlists resolves to all it means today in fedora land is 32 bit x86.
