ASLR has nothing to do with the wild claims made in that email, that
having an x86 system will somehow taint or 'infect' other
systems. Additionally, you don't need to run a 64 bit system to get
ASLR.
I'm not saying that the analogy is appropriate, but it is just not true
that 32-bit support is isolated. We will have to patch lots of code to
support the new *_time64 system calls, and that will impact everyone,
even for applications that are never run on 32-bit systems.
(This assumes that we can magically fix the native linker issues on
32-bit architectures.)
