On this subject, the openchrome driver that was recently reviewed did
include a .xinf file. Would this be problematic?
My 2 cent: afaics it's fine to ship one. The package is not getting
installed by default, so no harm is done for ordinary users. For those
users that actually installed the package manually everything works as
it should when kudzu touches the xorg.conf the next time.
