My point is that if the rpm name contained the soname, version 0.1
and
version 0.2 could be installed at the same time, and I would not have to
update all the packages depending on it immediatly.
It packages don't conflit you can install multiple packages with the
same name.
This is done with the kernel package :
[fmatias@one i386]$ rpm -q kernel
kernel-2.6.10-1.736_FC3.mat.1
kernel-2.6.10-1.750_FC3.mat.1
