I've been working on making systemd packaging slightly more modular:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/systemd_package_split
This has been discussed during the recent systemd.conf2015 and
also on the mailing list
(
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/systemd-devel/2015-November/034917....).
For server this is unlikely to have a significant impact,
but for container cases it can save about ~15MB of disk space.

b'grub2-tools': 125
b'grub2': 131
This is fairly big... It also pulls in fedora-logos, bringing the total
up to 60MB. systemd-boot and other minimalists look really nice in
comparison.

* The largest individual package in both deployments is the
glibc-common package. This is primarily due to the 106MiB
locale-archive. I'd really like to hear from glibc folks if there is
something we can do to break this up into smaller pieces contained in
different sub-packages with Suggests: dependencies.
Is there any progress on
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Glibc_locale_subpackaging
?
