Thanks, Christian. It's good to know that people are working on these issues.
One configuration that appears to be particularly unstable is a
dual-monitor setup with nouveau. I experience frequent system hangs
with that setup, and don't seem to be alone; e.g.,
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1491565. (Note that I do
not have a HiDPI monitor, but I also don't see all of the issues the
reporter of that bug noted.) I'm going to try using X sessions this
week to see if that helps at all. If not, they are probably nouveau
bugs unrelated to Wayland.
Does wayland actually support that?
I have a triple monitor setup with nouveau on one machine and that has
always fallen back to X so I just assumed wayland didn't support that yet.
My machines which are using wayland, which admittedly aren't using
nvidia graphics at all, seem perfectly fine with it.
