And why is that a bad thing? Just put it in a separate subpackage, there might actually be people who want to use gettext in mono, or does mono already offer a similar / buildin version?

- Pull in dmidecode on x86-ish and x86_64 architectures
- Don't let HAL's Mount() method circumvent system policy (#182352)
- Patch to use new pm-utils's new pm-powersave util properly
This means:
* That LCD brightness changing now works with PPC hardware (only for hardware that supports changing the backlight brightness from software). You can use gnome-power-manager to set policy when on AC and battery.
* HAL should now detect the power button on PPC (works for my iBook clamshell), so that when pressed, the logout, shutdown, restart dialogue is displayed. You'll need a very up to date g-p-m for this to work.
* HAL will can set a LowPowerMode when on battery power (just like LaptopMode), that should save even more battery power when on battery.
Richard.

Err... this has worked for, like, ages on my iBook. Gnome even displays a nice popup-window with the current setting on each keypress. same for the volume control.

What does #lsof /dev/pmu print? You have probably pbbuttonsd installed which isn't integrated with GNOME or gnome-power-manager. With these changes to HAL, all this should "just work" without any configuration.

The only user of that file is gnome-settings-daemon.

Don't believe there needs to be a bug filed, as the problem is already aware of. Which is to downgrade to the next lowest mkinitrd rpm, which should be (I think) the one from FC5T3 release, until the fix is out.
