No notification sounds?

Hi,
is it just me or doesn't Xfce support notification sounds? I recently
noticed that Thunderbird doesn't play a system-sound if a new mail
arrives.
I've disabled the option for loading the Gnome runtime environment on
startup.

Update screenshots on the website?
by Oliver Propst
Hi, thanks for an awesome distribution.
I have noticed that the screenshots on
the website are from fedora xfce 12.
Maybe its time to update the screenshots
so that the screenshots on the website
are from the latest and greatest release.

Power manager from GNOME
by Miro Hrončok
Hi,
I've installed Fedora 16 Xfce Spin and I'm using my old /home from F14 and 15.
Now I have 2 power managers sitting in systray.
Image: http://neverhood.etomite.cz/files/power-manager.png
The "other" power manager is using GTK3, so I suppose, it is from
GNOME. It has no context menu. I cannot find it in processes. I hopped
it will disappear if I remove GDM, but it did not.
Can you please tell me, how to get rid of it?
Thank you,
Miro Hrončok

Update notifications?
by Heiko Adams
Hi,
has anyone figured out a way bring back update notifications to Xfce? It
getting boring to open yumex or Terminal to do a yum check-update and
recognize that there are no updates available.

Self introduction
by Jon Masters
Greetings again,
I've decided to standardize on Xfce for the time being, having been -
shall we say - less than happy with GNOME. I spent weeks recently
reading the Xlib protocol and have started reading the GTK source. I
have years worth of catch up to do in UI programming, and initially
thought I'd try to revive a GNOME 2.x fork, but even if I had the time
to do so, I think that would give too much assistance to a project I
strongly disagree with when Xfce is doing something more useful.
Anyway. Long story short, I intend to learn more in semi-lurking mode as
I study the Xfce source, get a bit more involved upstream, then here. I
am very grateful for all of the work being put in by this SIG.
Jon.

disable drag menu items
by Lucas
Dear All.
Is it possible to disable drag menu item from pop-up application menu. For example - if one click on
a menu item and then move mouse with pressed left button wm gives possibility to move this item to
desktop.
How can I disable this grag-and-drop functionality in application menu?
Thanks.

Changing Background Image?
by Frank Murphy
What would be the best way to link:
/usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/*
and
/usr/share/backgrounds/*
to make it easier to
chage images.
