After my recent foray in xfwm4 I believe that this is not needed if
you build from a release (make dist) archive. However, if you patch a
glade file, you need this package to rebuild the patched UIs. See my
xfwm4 thread, I learned it the hard way when I tried to set up my copr
repository (which is ready for testing by the way).
If no one is taking it, I volunteer. Depending on the upstream
reception of my patch I may spend more time hacking Xfce. I have at
least noticed a few opportunities for cosmetic enhancements in the
xfwm4 code base.
There's a TON of glade3 deps... 60 packages depend on it, including most
all of the Xfce plugins and various other Xfce packages. :(
It may be possible to build glade3 with python3, but I am not sure... it
pulls in pygtk2 which pulls in python2, so that might be the end there. :(
It _is_ possible to build it without python at all. I am not sure what
that breaks. Repoquery doesn't find anything, but it might be that
things are dlopening the python plugin?
Lets coordinate in the python2 glade3 bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1739549
I'd propose we take it back over and push a build with no python support
to rawhide and try and see what breaks, and perhaps talk to upstream
about python3 support?
