The only benefits of xfce4-volumed are that is uses the configuration or xfce4-mixer (not sure if this works with 4.10.0) and display's notifications (that can be very annyoing, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731430 ) Therefor I suggest to not install it by default.
