Don't know anything about ghc to comment on the difficulties, but ghc
8.10.1 was released 2 months ago and uses llvm 9

and
llvm10.0 builds.
I think it's an interesting problem in general. Perhaps it would be good to
have at least 1 extra version of GCC and LLVM other than the current
mainline?
Isn't that already happening though with both llvm (10) and llvm9.0
being available in Fedora 32?
