I use dovecot to export mail delivered in maildir format. Don't
know about
mbox - but you're not suggesting that cyrus exports standard format, are
you?
Nope. I'm suggesting it doesn't, and therefore dovecot is not
duplicate effort, it stands on its own.
cyrus runs its own database - one reason I don't use it.
