A belated fyi, that we've got kde-4.4.85 builds for f12 and f13 in kde-unstable repos for your updating pleasure.
Feedback, bugs, welcome as usual. Enjoy.

QT 4.7 beta 1 still required?
No, not for kde-4.5betas which are built against qt-4.6.x. Other items in -unstable may require qt47 however.

It has been working here on this laptop without any problems to report.
I am sorry not be of assistance here. ;-)

Discovered it yesterday afternoon and got it on both desk- and laptops :-)
Many bugs fixed from beta1, like I can now use knode without it crashing and kmail is much snappier, for starters. Also:
I definitely like that they got rid of the kludgey zoom in/zoom out business with plasma activities (there were always more activities than one had ever created, sometimes they would zoom in not on the correct boundaries, so you got part of one activity and part of another on a vertual desktop, etc.).
The new icons for the system tray look very elegant and the notifications now stay long enough that you can actually read/respond to them, and you can delete them it you wish, or retain them.

To each their own. Personally I dislike them (IMO they don't go at all with my theme), anyone know if they can be reverted via option? (It seems yes, since I've noticed at least once after plasma-desktop crashes (or wedged and I killed it; forget which), I get the preferred old icons when I restart it.)
