nntp (aka, usenet) client in kde?

I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also, search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is kde specific. -gene

KDE 4.11.00 intermittently forgets various plasmoids & desktop settings

Hello, Everyone Lately after I logout of KDE and then log back in, my desktop background is sometimes changed to something that I did NOT have as my background, and all of my Plasmoids are gone... This is on Fedora 19. KDE version is 4.11.0. Yes, that's from kde-unstable. If you can help me figure out what is wrong, I can file a bug report. Steven P. Ulrick

anybody except me which can't connect to facebookchat any longer on F19 with 4.11.1 while XMPP/Jabber in fact works because it happily connects to our internal prosody server? the facebook connection always says "connecting" in kopete while netstat shows it *is* connected but refuse to talk for whatever reason

KMail painfully slow... why?

While I've had no end of grief w/kmail2 after it switched to akonadi and have never been able to get search working, something else has popped up lately. Over the last two or three months, kmail2 has gotten *PAINFULLY* slow at doing just about anything. Click to switch from one message to another, and sometimes I can wait as long as 90s before the UI updates. Don't even get the "loading" screen, just waiting before it does anything. Only thing I've seemed to find that even helps at all is to log out and log back in again. Its then good for most of the day but by late afternoon things are bogging down again and I just close it and go back to logging in directly to my mail server and using "pine". Nepomuk is running, and is configured for e-mail indexing. Akonadi is running, but isn't complaining about any problems. When the problem occurs, its *not* CPU bound, so I'm pretty sure that its not the feeder/indexer hogging resources. Something, however, seems to be blocking and holding kmail2 up. Anyone got any suggestions? -- Graham TerMarsch

recent updates now wireless almost unusable

It seems with today's updates, now it's almost impossible to connect to wireless. On login, the network manager widget just says 'waiting for authentication'. Which nothing seems to ask for, so it just sits. opening the plasma, clicking on the desired access point, I get many cycles of network manager crashing, and the panel apparently crashing and restarting. After randomly screwing around, eventually it somehow connects. I have not uploaded the crash dump as it's too large. So it looks like a whole bunch of bugs here. Why is it 'waiting for authentication'? This is not a new setup and has worked fine for years. Of course, NM shouldn't be crashing. But that seems to me to be yet another bug. It looks to me that nm crashed only after fiddling around, and after it already was hung with 'waiting for auth...'.

dolphin preview icons differ from non preview icons

Good day all, I have recently changed Icon theme from Oxygen to H20 downloaded from "get new stuff" however when i press preview in dolphin any folder that has pictures inside, reverts back to the old Oxygen icon to show the previews http://airs.me.uk/images/IconQuestion.jpg but it works ok in the folder view widget on the desktop I'm not sure how to go about fixing this, or if it can be Martin

Snap to screen edge not working

I'm not sure when this started, but I have found that "snapping" windows to the edges of my screens is not working properly. It seems to be aligning the *contents* of the window with the edge, ignoring the width of the window border. This is most noticeable when I try to align a window at an "edge" between two screens; the window border "bleeds" over onto the other screen. Anyone else seeing this? Update to 4.11.1 Changed Kmail Settings

After a recent update to 4.11.1, my settings in Kmail were changed to include detailed notifications of new mail messages. I previously had notifications set completely off. Of course, it was easy to reset this (after I found where to do it again). But why would an update mess with my settings? (And what other settings were changed?) This seems like a very bad policy. -- Garry T. Williams

kde-testing and multilib x86_64

Hi I recently experienced a seg-fault with kde 4.11 x86_64 installation from the kde-repo repository. I have some kde*.i686 packages installed as well. I tried to download and install debug symbols, but ran into multiple conflicts. file system ownership discrepancy between fedora 15 and fedora 19

Hi, I have been using old version of OS s fedora 15 and red hat 6.2. Hdd partitions made by red hat seen by fedora 15 successfully, despite using different usernames of OSs. I have installed to try fedora 19 kde in an other machine. The case was any hdd partition made by redhat 6.2(which was usable in fedora15) is not accessible on fedora 19 machine. And also, any hdd partition made by fedora 19 is not accessible by redhat6.2 and fedora15. What is the problem with ownership management of OS versions? Any solution?
