Hi all,
are there any plans to build (again?) the KWin video record effect? "again" means I hardly recall to have seen this on F10 (KDE 4.2.0?).
I've tried everything to screencast my KDE desktop (with compositing active, on an NVidia graphics card), and nothing seems to work 100% other than the KWin video record effect. You can compare the results with the latest recordmydesktop (which has better composite support than previous versions):

That was 4.1.x. Upstream disabled it in 4.2 on the ground of it being "not ready for end users". :-/

my memory didn't fail that much: kdebase-workspace-4.2.0-8.fc10.i386.rpm had it

[Side note: is there a way to avoid KMail's annoying word-wrapping of "-" in URLs?... without disabling Options - Wordwrap]

yes, not very user-friendly (you press the keyboard shortcut and have to wild guess if it started working)... though only thing that works for me. I'll have to keep on building my own kde stuff :-/ at least it's fun
