Hi - What settings does KDE use to get the country defaults? We use
Kickstart to install Fedora 12, with
lang en_GB.UTF-8
However KDE doesn't seem to pick up the currency settings and other country
settings for the UK.
Is there an automated way to change the country, or a configuration file to
edit to change it? It would be useful if users got the correct country
setting by default.

Try creating an /etc/kde/kdeglobals with the following contents:
[Locale]
Country=gb
Language=en_GB
You'll probably also want to install kde-l10n-British.

Thanks. If we do this, and create a new account, it displays in the KDE
regional settings
Country or Region: Not set (Generic English).
Language is reported as British English under Locale tab, but money shows as
$ not £, etc.

Under system-settings, I have United Kingdom as "Country or Region"
and -- oops, I just noticed -- no specific language set. Time to
install kde-i18n-British ...
Anyway, based on that it looks like gb *is* the correct country code to use.

Oops, you're right -- I actually wanted kde-l10n-British. Well, that's
confusing. :)

Okay, if I put
[Locale]
Country=gb
Language=en_GB
into /home/username/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals
then the country settings work. However it doesn't work in
/etc/kde/kdeglobals, /usr/share/config/kdeglobals or
/usr/share/kde-settings/kde-profile/default/share/config/kdeglobal
Any ideas anyone?
