I just upgraded to F21 via the "nonproduct" route, and I find KDM is still my default desktop manager. Can someone remind me how to switch to SDDM? I know it's a FAQ and I should remember :-)

There's also something called system-switch-displaymanager, I think.

That did the trick, thanks. I was used to editing config files to get this to work.

You have to install the package system-switch-displaymanager-gnome.

OK, though I don't need it now.

Doesn't work on my system, all I get on reboot is a black screen.
No errors in /var/log/messages, /var/log/sddm.log, or /var/log/Xorg.0.old.

Did you mean to ask if sddm is installed? kdm is what I've been using. sddm-0.10.0-2.fc21.x86_64
Again, no error messages. /var/log/sddm.log says:

No meant to ask if kdm was installed but I read your question backwards. So disregard. :-)

There is a bug with SDDM that means the first time you try to log in you get the failsafe KDE session. You have to select normal KDE on the login screen, then subsequent sessions will work correctly.
I can't see how this would produce the problem you're seeing, but just so you know.
