Hi ARM friends,
I've been trying without success to get the F32 Workstation RC1.6 (tomorrow's release) installed on my Pinebook Pro. If anyone here has done it, do you have instructions written up somewhere?
One layer of trouble I've had is that the image apparently doesn't have the uboot files. The arm-image-installer script looks for them, AFAICT, in the image, so I called the installer with the PREFIX set to '', which was enough to get the install script to work, but the PBP doesn't boot from the SD card.
I also used the 'rock64' target, which seems like it should be the right answer and not 'pinebook' (since the Pinebook uses a different board from the Pinebook Pro). But maybe that's part of my problem, too?

I have done it but it's all from serial console so it doesn't make it an overly useful device.

The 1.6 release actually does have the uboot files, it's called pinebook-pro-rk3399, but we're going to need to flash it slightly differently.
I also used the 'rock64' target, which seems like it should be the right answer and not 'pinebook' (since the Pinebook uses a different board from the Pinebook Pro). But maybe that's part of my problem, too?
It's not, the options are extremely device specific.
To summarise where we are for everyone, with other deadlines I ran out of time to really polish this for F-32, it does actually boot on Fedora 32 but there's an issue with display output I've not got to the bottom of as yet. I'm hoping to catch up and I'll do a remix image with the fixes in so people can consume it easily. Once the screen is working any further enhancements we deliver in F-32 can be provided simply by the usual update mechanisms.

Thanks, Peter. If you need a tester, you know where to find me. As is my #personal #brand, I plan on writing up a blog post once it's working.

Please share that post here once it's done, as I'd love to put Fedora on my Pinebook Pro as well. And in case any testers are required: I'm here to help!
Cheers,
Dan

Hello together,
today my Pinebook Pro arrived and I have problems with installing Fedora on it.
What's wrong with the command?
[root@raspi4 ARM]# fedora-arm-image-installer --image=Fedora-Minimal-32-1.6.aarch64.raw.xz --target=rock64 --media=/dev/sde Error: You must choose a supported board or none at all.
fedora-arm-image-installer --supported : rock64 is available

You can't just choose any board that might be similar, it has to be the right device, you could actually damage the device, but in the very least it won't work.
The Pinebook Pro support is currently incomplete.

There's no current new information for standard users.
My free time of late has been close to zero due to personal life events and work deadlines.
I'm back to making some forward movement but ATM it's still not consumable for an end user, it's not far off and when it's ready I'll have it documented and it'll be supported in rawhide.
