I must have missed clarifying this in the earlier email. I wasn't
alluding to the web list in specific. I was asking whether the
outcome of each of the discussion phases are recorded/archived in
the form of annotations against each word pair in the final list.
For example, if the original list (say, for desktop applications)
had a specific word-pair and, post the discussions some of the
pairs were modified with more appropriate ones, is there a process
to record who suggested the changes, what the thought behind the
changes were etc. As an illustrative example - how do you record
and archive discussions/suggestions like

The ability to record and preserve this would be a valuable resource
in the future.
In the early days when we had workshops for Hindi terminology, we
attempted to keep such a record, of at least who suggested a word,
and the available options, reasoning etc. but abandoned it soon since
was time consuming, esp when in a workshop like environment where we
have limited people and time to complete the exercise. It was also
felt prudent not to name persons for words finalized, but project it
as collective work of the group who sat for it.
As for records & preservation best way out would be to record audio
of workshop, or at best have couple of person dedicated to keeping
such a record.
In last meeting while most terms which were finalized quick enough
(based on suggested list), some contentious ones were kept separate
and debated in detail and even voted upon. Maybe such a vote track
could be kept.
But all these efforts primarily being voluntary it becomes an
overburden to add more to expectations, than beyond getting a list of
terms agreed upon. Off course, with lack of such records, in
future the exercise might be questioned upon by
organizations/individuals who feel have better mandate in such
matters, but who themselves lacked the initiative, or foresight to do
it.
Perhaps it could be done but might need 4 day workshop instead of
two, or double the number participants (which in anyways increases
the noise level more than useful debate).
