That one is three years old, and talking about FC6. However, I did check
the nfslock status and was told that rpc.statd is running.
The crazysquirrel guides look the most promising of anything I've seen so
far. I'll try that out as soon as I've done the more urgent stuff. Thanks

Hi Anne,
Mary Ellen Foster opened a bug report [1] in which she described a read-only
problem in combination with sshfs. See the last comment by Caolan McNamara. In
her first post she mentioned a discussion on the
forum about a
NFS-issue.
May be it can shed a new light on your issue.
