Their website is pretty clear on this.
KIO GDrive is a KIO slave that enables KIO-aware applications (such
as Dolphin, Kate or Gwenview) to access and edit Google Drive files
on the cloud.
OK, so not really what I'm looking for. Rclone seems fine for my use
case. I was using Insync up to now but didn't want to pay an annual fee
(earlier versions had a one-time payment but that has changed).
