It's part of the plasma theme (which happens to include a svg element
with alpha channel).
Options include:
1. disable desktop effects (effectively disabling alpha channel support)
2. change/modify that individual plasma theme element
3. change plasma themes
Thanks Rex. I guess (1) is the only practical option for the normal
user.
