I too have the same intel and problem, it only happens once and awhile. I just ctrl/alt/bksp and restart xserver and it has worked. I have been doing all the updates and it has not happened in awhile. Shlama w'burkate, eric john nagel ovadyah

Hi,
I've had a problem for a few days with the screen turning off (power saving) when the the graphical progress display would ordinarily appear. Unfortunately it never turns back on. (Video adapter is Intel 82845G).
I can work around it by booting to runlevel 3 and then init 5.
Is anyone seeing this or know about it or should I just file a bug.
Thanks,
Leon...
