System: HP DC7700 OS fedora-release-9-2, AMD-64. Last updated within the past two houes.
I logged in at runlevel 5 using KDM, choosing icewm or fvwm. On logging out, the mouse continues to work fine, but the keyboard not at all. No keypresses, no lights toggle when I press appropriate keys.
Switch to a VC (using the mouse, <ctrl>-<Alt>-F1 does not work), keyboard and mouse are fine.
Recovery: telinit 3;sleep 10s;telinit 5.
Nothing obvious to me in /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old

When I was looking earlier, this didn't seem out of the ordinary - after all, X had been closed down. However, I then saw this in a newer log, with X still running:
(II) UnloadModule: "evdev" (II) ImExPS/2 Generic Explorer Mouse: Close (II) UnloadModule: "evdev"
It seems a little early to be unloading input drivers.
