It is still a little too complicated for my liking, but i think it strikes a good balance. Just out of interest, is there any reason why ibus is not enabled by default for the regular keyboard layout? IMHO It seems a little counter-intuiutive to enable a different layout/input method that changes the functionality of the one you are already using.
