[In the news] Fedora 19, Schrödinger's Cat, lives
by Ankur Sinha
Hi,
"Unlike its predecessor, Fedora 18, which was infamously late, Fedora 19
has arrived on time. In a statement, Fedora Project leader Robyn
Bergeron said, "In this release, the Fedora Project community has
absolutely demonstrated that agility matters. From high-level features
for enabling cloud and virtualization infrastructure, all the way down
to process-level and virtual-machine level portability, combined with
the newest developer toolchains, Fedora 19 contains cutting-edge
technologies that enable scalability, resilience, and flexibility that
are vital in a technology world increasingly focused on rapid delivery
of solutions, services, and information."
Fedora has always been known for being the cutting-edge Linux
distribution. It's meant more for serious power users and developers
than casual users. This release is no different."

[In the news] Muktware: Fedora 19 aka Schrodinger's Cat released
by Ankur Sinha
Hi,
"The Fedora project has announced the release of Fedora 19 aka
Schrödinger's Cat. Fedora teams lead the development of some of the core
upstream projects which are then used by other distros such as Ububuntu.
"In this release, the Fedora Project community has absolutely
demonstrated that agility matters,"said Robyn Bergeron, Fedora Project
Leader. "From high-level features for enabling cloud and virtualization
infrastructure, all the way down to process-level and virtual-machine
level portability, combined with the newest developer toolchains, Fedora
19 contains cutting-edge technologies that enable scalability,
resilience, and flexibility that are vital in a technology world

[In the news] ZDNet: Installing Fedora 19: What's new?
by Ankur Sinha
Hi,
"The final release of Fedora 19 was right on the original schedule:
considering the record of the past few Fedora releases, that is an
accomplishment in itself. The really good news, though, is that this is
another excellent release from the Fedora team.
The Fedora Download Page contains Live ISO Images for Gnome, KDE, Xfce
and LXDE distributions, for 32 and 64 bit architectures.
For those who want or need other formats, there is also an installable
DVD image and a network install image...."

[In the news] The-H: Fedora 19 - "Schrödinger's Cat" - is most certainly alive
by Ankur Sinha
Hi,
"Despite having a codename that evokes quantum uncertainty, Fedora 19
"Schrödinger's Cat", has arrived on time. The new release of Fedora
arrives with the features as previewed in May's beta. For developers,
the OpenShift Origin platform-as-a-service, the Node.js asynchronous
JavaScript platform and Ruby 2.0 as standard are highlights of the
release. Database users will find Fedora 19 has switched to MariaDB as
its new standard database, while makers will find a range of 3D design
and print tools are now available. There's also a switch to GCC 4.8 for
building packages and updated desktop software in the form of GNOME 3.8,
KDE Plasma Workspace 4.10 and Mate 1.6.
The H will have an in-depth look at the features of Fedora 19 in the
very near future. In the meantime, users who want to try out the new
release can first consult the release notes and then download it from
fedoraproject.org/get-fedora where it is available as a 915MB ISO format
image for 64-bit PCs or in a range of other formats with different
desktops and for different architectures."

Promotional material for Fedora 19
by Marcel Ribeiro Dantas
Hello there,
Tomorrow night I'm going to present a talk about Fedora and afterwards
there will be also a release party that I'm organizing in this event.
Is there already promotional material for Fedora 19?
I'd like to show a promotional video plus print some material if
there's any available.
Best regards,

New interviews for the websites. Flock idea?
by Kévin Raymond
Hi there,
Could someone see if it's possible to do more contributor interviews at
Flock?
Ours at https://fedoraproject.org/en/using/#interviews are really old, and
many are outdated (current job...). Yes Robyn, you are targeted :)
I think it's quite late to set this in the schedule, but if someone here
find this idea nice, please do something.
I feel so sad to not came to this amazing event. But I heard about it
really late (few weeks ago) and that does not let enough time for the
planes...
Happy release day!

release stories for various sites
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
It's possibly too late for tomorrow, but what would people think of
making an effort to get ready and submit stories to various sites when
the release happens.
For example slashdot will almost surely have a post on it, but usually
it's submitted by someone random and has links that aren't ideal or
talks about things we don't want to highlight or whatever.
If we could ready submissions and hit submit right at release we might
have better info/links out to people.
What does everyone think? anyone willing to write things up for some
site and submit? Or plan better to do so in the f20 cycle?
slashdot
reddit
lwn
other sites that have user submissions?
