Apologies
by Matt Harwood
Hi all,
Just letting you know I'm afraid I won't be able to make tonight's
meeting. I'll be more available over the next couple of days to gather
more speed with the OpenShift article and will post to the list over the
weekend with a draft for comment.
Sorry for the slow progress on it, personal pressures have been using up
a lot of my time.
Hope to speak to you all soon!

Review Requested: Updated Python Brochure
by Brian Proffitt
As per ticket #219[1], I have updated the Fedora Python brochure to include
more current information. The updates are almost all around content, I left
the design elements pretty much alone.
I would like the group to examine the content and let me know if anything
is wrong or missing. If I could get feedback to me by 1200 EDT (1600 UTC)
Wednesday, March 30 (to allow for the upcoming US and EU holidays), that
would be great.
The pdfs are attached; my apologies for not attaching these files to the
ticket itself; there was a file size limit. Please let me know if posting
them somewhere else will be helpful.
Peace,
Brian

I am in FOSS for last 3 yrs now and I would like to start off by writing posts for Fedora Magazine ( I have already started contributing to developers.redhat.com as a content writer)[4]. I am writing to you if you can help me getting started. I have a testday[5] coming and I intend to announce it on Fedora Magazine.Previously, I have written a mail introducing myself in the list and asking any moderator/admin to review it since that didn't happen. I thought of directly writing to you this time.

Hi Sumantro!
Somehow, this email was lost in my inbox and I'm only just now seeing
it. Super sorry for the late response, but I think we can get you
bootstrapped and familiar with how the Magazine works. I'm going to
include the Marketing mailing list in my reply so the rest of the team
can know that you are interested in writing too.
Firstly, when getting started with writing for the Magazine, you should
check out this great intro post about how to write for the Magazine.
https://fedoramagazine.org/writing-an-article-for-the-fedora-magazine/
This page has a lot of details and pointers for getting started you may
find useful. Something that page mentions is writing a pitch for your
article. A pitch is the first step for writing for the Magazine, and
it's how the rest of the editing team can get the gist of what you're
writing about. A link explaining how to write the pitch is below.
https://fedoramagazine.org/writing-a-new-pitch/
Hopefully this should be enough to get you started. Seems like we
probably missed the test day, but for any future articles you want to
write about, we'd be happy to see anything you come up with! If you have
questions, please let us know. If you need help resolving your mailing
list issues, you can reply directly to me in an email - otherwise, try
to use the public mailing list.
Sorry again for the late response, and welcome!

Looking for Fedora speaker for new Linux Meetup in London
by BrianLinuxing@gmail.com
Dear All,
I would like to get a Fedora speaker for our new Linuxing In London Meetup.
But first I would like to invite you all to attend on the 31st May, then 28th June, 26th July, etc if you are free and in London :)
http://www.meetup.com/Linuxing-In-London/
Every month we have two talks, 20-25 minutes, a break before hand and afterwards. The evening starts at 18:15 and finishes at about 20:45. Skills Matter is an excellent venue, conveniently located about 4 minutes walk from Liverpool Street station and Moorgate tube.
Best wishes,
Brian

Meeting the last Tuesday of every month at Skills Matter’s Code Node, we are an outgoing Linux** advocacy Meetup.
We will be organising a stimulating range of talks from Linux specialists, vendors and enthusiasts over the next year. Our objective is to popularise and encourage the growth of Linux, along with free open source software.
There will be plenty of opportunity for networking and stimulating conversations. Our intention is to cover Linux security, IoT, the Desktop, developing under Linux, Containerisation and Linux to Drones, phones and the command line, plus much more.
Basically, everything Linux, big and small.
Join us if you can, we would be delighted to see you.
Please get in touch with me if you have a talk for the community, as we would love to schedule in an extensive range of presentations from the widest range of speakers.

Follow-up on Fedora Jam article
by Justin W. Flory
Hey Brian,
Wanted to follow up on the status of the "Getting started with Fedora
Jam" article. In our meeting today, we reviewed the article, and it
looks good so far. We had a few suggestions for ways to expand the
article a little bit.
Adding some screenshots in of some software in the Jam Lab might be a
good idea to help give readers a visual of some of the software
available for use. This could be a screenshot of actual music production
or just a demo of something running, but any kind of screenshot should
do fine.
Additionally, we also thought it would be good to offer some more
background and introduction for Fedora Jam. Some questions that may be
helpful to answer to introduce the lab:
1) What can Fedora Jam be used for?
2) What kind of software is available for music production or mixing?
3) Why might a musician be interested in using Fedora Jam?
This should help offer a good introduction to the Lab and explain what
it is to readers. Adding download links to the bottom would also be
helpful to point readers where to get their hands on it!
Everything else so far looks good! We're looking at having this
published on Wednesday, 2016-06-01. If you think you would be able to
have the screenshots and/or edits in by the end of Sunday, that would be
best so we have time to do a final editing pass and get a featured image
for the article.
Let us know if you have any questions or other ideas for the article!
Thanks for working on this piece. :)

Intro: Martino Jones
by Martino Jones
Hi all,My name is Martino Jones, I have been using Fedora for the past year and really enjoy the distro. I have used Linux since high school, so I have a lot of experience; however, I'm not an expert, I'm still learning. I think I would rate my experience at advanced. I use Fedora as my desktop distro for class work: programming, scripting, security tools, writing, etc. I have also used Fedora for gaming, I use the proprietary Nvidia graphics drivers and Steam. I'm a college student with an Assoc. in Computer and Network Security and I'm obtaining my B.S. in Applied Information Assurance. I really like Fedora, I've gotten some of my friends to try it out, but some of them are turned off by the support pages. Sometimes I make a YouTube video or blog post on my personal site to help people along the way (focusing on both terminal and GUI), but I think it would be best if I help with the documentation. I see Fedora growing more and more and it's really exciting to see. I wish to help with the documentation, and hope this is the right way to get started.
