Hey everyone! Our weekly meeting just came to a close. In today's
meeting, we focused mostly on talking point follow-up to ensure we have
a deliverable in time for Beta. We also spent some time discussing the
sub-project report we'd like to deliver to the Fedora Council in May.
More details are all below!

(jwf, 13:05:03)
* The Fedora Council held their FAD from 26-28 March. During the FAD,
they tackled some key areas of interest across the project. This is
one part of a series of posts (to come). Important information for
any contributor to review. (jwf, 13:05:09)
* === In the news: "Fedora 26 Alpha Released With New Features —
Download ISO File Here" === (jwf, 13:05:15)
* LINK:
https://fossbytes.com/fedora-26-alpha-released-new-features-download/
(jwf, 13:05:20)
* A generic article supporting the Fedora 26 Alpha release. Nothing
too unique, mostly positive, advises caution to using it on stable
machinery. Worth noting is that they source their changes from the
26 ChangeSet wiki page. (jwf, 13:05:25)
* === In the news: "Red Hat and Fedora Teams Welcome Ubuntu to GNOME
and Wayland with Open Arms" === (jwf, 13:05:32)
* LINK:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/red-hat-and-fedora-teams-welcome-ubuntu-to...
(jwf, 13:05:38)
* Softpedia covered GNOME developer Christian Schaller's blog post
welcoming Ubuntu / Canonical to the GNOME community on behalf of the
Fedora Workstation team. The response was overwhelmingly positive!
Which brings to the next point… (jwf, 13:05:44)
* === Record setting: Facebook, collaboration on GNOME === (jwf,
13:05:49)
* LINK:
https://www.facebook.com/TheFedoraProject/posts/10155140243620480
(jwf, 13:05:53)
* Our Facebook post resharing the article was one of our most widely
responded to post on Facebook… ever! As of now, 69,018 people
reached, 1.4k likes, and 257 shares! People are in love with the
idea of upstream collaboration (it seems)! (jwf, 13:05:59)
* Action items from last meetings (jwf, 13:07:36)
* LINK:
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting/2017-04-04/marketing.201...
(jwf, 13:07:43)
* How This Works: We look at past #action items from the last meeting
for quick follow-up. If a task is completed, we move on to the next
one. If it isn't, we get an update and re-action it if needed. If no
status, we'll try to get a quick update and move forward. (jwf,
13:07:58)
* === [DROPPED] jwf to solicit the WGs left to edit the Talking Point
page, even splitting the TP in two parts (one of them is for the
long-term vision of audience-based TPs) === (jwf, 13:08:10)
* Most feedback is there, following up with remaining groups (jwf,
13:08:11)
* === x3mboy Follow up with the KDE and LXQt SIGs to add their
information to the wiki page before the beta release === (jwf,
13:08:19)
* ACTION: x3mboy Follow up with the KDE and LXQt SIGs to add their
information to the wiki page before the beta release (jwf,
13:08:47)
* === [INCOMPLETE] jwf Reach out to the Server WG / Spins mailing list
to ask for talking point additions to the wiki page before beta
release === (jwf, 13:08:59)

teams for getting feedback on Fedora Atomic / Design Suite (jwf,
13:18:36)
* === Ticket #246: "Prepare report for Council sub-project report" ===
(jwf, 13:18:47)
* LINK:
https://pagure.io/fedora-marketing/issue/246 (jwf, 13:18:53)
* IDEA: Bringing back the SXSW-style brochures is one thing that would
be helpful to demo what non-Linux users can do with Linux (great for
installfests / hackathons) (jwf, 13:39:29)
* IDEA: To the Council: Seeking clarification on target audiences so
we can better work with Ambassadors to get feedback "from the
ground" and convert that into deliverables that help move Fedora
forward (jwf, 13:40:38)
* IDEA: To us, later: Having topic-based meetings to drive discussions
around specific areas or topics instead of jumping around with a
ticket-based focus (jwf, 13:41:13)
* ACTION: jwf Start Google Doc for "State of Marketing"
outline/presentation, share with x3mboy, mailga, bkp, others (jwf,
13:44:28)
* AGREED: All active Marketing team members will help contribute to
building the presentation (will collaborate in Google Docs), bkp and
x3mboy will present to the Fedora Council in May sub-project report
slot (tentatively May 24, need to confirm with Council) (jwf,
13:50:49)
* ACTION: jwf Put Marketing on the hook for May sub-project report
(jwf, 13:51:00)
* ACTION: jwf Create public Google Doc, share with mailing list
(people can request editing privileges to prevent anything being
wiped for whatever reason) (jwf, 13:51:46)
* Upcoming Tasks (jwf, 13:54:15)
* LINK:
https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-26/f-26-marketing-tasks.html

(jwf, 14:03:36)
