Is this list/group still active? Hopefully this isn't falling on deaf ears.
Anyways,
Hi all, my name is Kamin Horvath and I'm from Atlanta, GA. My FAS account name is khorvath, and you can probably find me on IRC or pretty much anywhere else as mohaas05.
My skillset is perhaps a bit untraditional but hopefully in a good way. My background isn't in the tech industry at all - I'm a project manager for a mechanical contractor, and I've spend 5+ years in various roles in the industry. Part of my job includes as the title would suggest, managing the various skills and trades involved in construction/retrofit/replacement projects from start to finish. However, a large portion of my job is sales - identifying opportunities, meeting clients and developing relationships, helping them develop plans, etc. - and I believe that's where I can offer the most benefit to the Marketing team.
I'd specifically love to be a part of whatever outreach efforts the Marketing team is involved in, as that's already a big part of what I do every day,, whether it be it in-person or virtual efforts. However, I'd be glad to help in writing or whatever other role is needed - especially since COVID has drastically changed everyone's priorities.
I appreciate you all letting me get on my soapbox, and hope to work with you all soon. I've been a Fedora user since FC1, and I'm excited to finally be able to contribute back.
Thanks, Kamin Horvath kamin@kghorvath.com

Not very active, but contributions are welcome. A lot of effort is currently in the magazine, though this is not the only outreach area that is useful.

Diversity is welcome. Would be great to know how you use Fedora. There has been a series on "How do you Fedora?", link to last article is below https://fedoramagazine.org/carlos-castro-leon-fedora/ Maybe you might offer to be interviewed?

Again, writing for the Magazine would be useful. Some other relevant information: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-magazine/contributing/ https://fedoramagazine.org/how-to-contribute-to-fedora/
Community operations and an ambassador role may also be of interest, though most of the discussion uses Discourse, not a mailing list: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/commops/contribute/join/ https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Ambassadors_Revamp_2020

We're here, but, yes, this is an area which needs a lot of help. I'm excited about your background -- we don't have enough project managers in general in Fedora.
Fedora's "Action and Impact Coordinator", Marie Nordin, is working on a plan to revitalize the marketing team as an effort of our broader Mindshare committee, and your help with that would definitely be welcome. Marie's taking a much-deserved couple of weeks off, but hopefully can help connect you up when she gets back.
Appreciate the kind words, thank you. Sounds like there are big things in store for Marketing and definitely look forward to hearing about it when she gets back.
Thanks,
Kamin
