system-config-display in F12 Beta fails with nouveau/Nvidia FX5200
by Joachim Backes
I installed F12 Beta from scratch, and X11 was installed on my 1280x1024
screen correctly (Video card Nvidia FX5200) with the nouveau driver.
Now I tried to install a new xorg.conf by using system-config-display
(for experimental reasons), but it failed with and without the
--reconfig option.
Somebody made similar experiences?

Problems installing Today's Rawhide
by Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX
AMD 6000+, ATI 2600XT: moving the cursor around in the
time zone selector causes keys to be ignored. If the
default time zone is left, Rawhide locks up with a blank screen
while formatting the root partition.
Core 2 duo - enabling the installation of X dev files causes a
file conflict.

Gnash and rawhide
by Rares Aioanei
As stated in http://lwn.net/Articles/357770/ , gnash should work ok with
youtube pages. However, on my amd64 rawhide machine, when I try to open
something in youtube, I get two pop-up windows(see attachment). Note
that I did yum install gstreamer* just to be sure.

Beta on Beta: VMware Workstation 7 RC on F12B?
by Christopher A Williams
All:
Just loaded my laptop with F12 beta. I need VMware Workstation 7 Beta
(actually the October RC) running on it as well. I got as far as to be
able to manually compile the modules, thanks to several notes in the
VMware Communities lists. But I think something selinux related is
keeping Workstation from actually starting. I say that because the
installer sets off selinux flags left and right.
Anyone here found a magic incantation to make this combo work? I know
it's beta on top of beta, but it would be great to have this running.
If I could even just figure out how to get selinux into permissive mode,
I think that would do the trick.
Ideas?
Cheers,
Chris

FUDcon fun?
by Adam Williamson
Hi, folks. In the Bugzappers meeting this morning, we were discussing
the possibilities for FUDCon Toronto, which for those who don't know is
taking place in Toronto (duh) in December. December 5-7, to be precise.
More details on the event are in the Wiki:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Toronto_2009
now, if enough of us are going to be there we can plan some exciting
QA / BugZappers-related events. For now we know that pretty much the
whole Red Hat Fedora QA group is going to be there, and some Bugzappers
volunteers too. The more who can come along, the merrier. If you can
come, you can fill your name in on the list on the Wiki page, and it'd
be good to let the list know too.
Some funding is available for those who have trouble covering travel /
hotel costs, but it's fairly limited. You can indicate on the attendance
table if you need funding - fill in your name but mark the 'funding'
column to show that you need money. Get it done before Thursday as
that's the date of the next meeting to allocate funds. Explaining why
you're awesome and deserve money in the 'comments' column may help :)
there are various money-saving tips on travel and lodging on the Wiki
page - there's a bus running from Boston, and room sharing arrangements
are being made in the Wiki table.
Hope we can get a decent turnout there! it's always good to meet people
face-to-face.
