this problem in the subsequent releases?
Well, it's a fairly specific issue. If it had been raised for
consideration as a blocker it may well have been accepted as one under:
"# The installer must be able to successfully complete an upgrade
installation from a clean, fully updated default installation of the
previous stable Fedora release, either via preupgrade or by booting to
the installer manually"
from the Beta criteria, given that the 'offending' fstabs were usually
created by previous Fedora versions, and not user-customized. But it
wasn't raised for consideration, AFAIR.
