Installation from live USB is pretty straight forward since you don't
the choice of fiddling with the package set during installation. Takes
about 3 minutes. That's what I do.
I wonder if that has anything to do with it working for you and not me.
I'll probably try both versions and see if there's a difference.
Also, do you boot into runlevel 3 or runlevel 5, which could, I assume,
also make a difference?
