I am new to Linux and need some help to make it do what i was doing with Win98.
I have search on the web. It seem i can't search list archive so here i go.
I am not sure how to fax but i figure i have to use kdeprintfax.
Here what i got in the journal when using kdeprintfax with KDE:
Mime type: text/plain Command: enscript -M %psu -E -p %out %in [ 1 pages x 1 copies placées dans /tmp/kde-utilisateur/kdeprintfax_htCD516 Envoi du fax en utilisant : /usr/bin/sendfax -n -h 'localhost' -x '' -c '' -f '' -d ''@'228-1049' '/tmp/kde-utilisateur/kdeprintfax_htCD516'
/bin/bash: line 1: /usr/bin/sendfax: Aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce type
I got similar result with other option like Efax or mgetty.
Is something missing?
I have almost all FC1 package installed.
Thanks!

May be you could install : cd3/Fedora/RPMS/mgetty-sendfax-1.1.30-4.i386.rpm by hand, since it's not installed by default.
Other issue is to install Hylafax ( http://www.hylafax.org )
Hope this help. Regars Geatan Yavorsky

I tried installing the mgetty-sendfax rpm by clicking on my cd until i got the rpm file. It was working but gave me an error message just before ending. I get this message too when i try to install package from the Gui installer in the menu (System parameters).
I then try kdeprintfax with mgetty and got
Mime type: text/plain Command: enscript -M %psu -E -p %out %in [ 1 pages x 1 copies placées dans /tmp/kde-utilisateur/kdeprintfax_KbccCbF Envoi du fax en utilisant : /usr/bin/faxspool -F 'VéloSpécialité' -f '' -D '' '228-1049' '/tmp/kde-utilisateur/kdeprintfax_KbccCbF'
Usage: /usr/bin/faxspool [options] [faxphone] [page data] Options: -p poll request -n normal resolution -C <pgm> set cover page program ("-" for none) -D <dest> set verbose destination name -F <full name> set full name of sender -h <file> text file for page header -f <email> set address for status mail -P <n> set job priority (1=lowest, 9=highest) -c copy source files -t hh:mm set earliest possible send time -t hh:mm-hh:mm set time range for sending fax -A <txt> specify free-form accounting information -q shut up
nothing more.
I'd like to uninstall the RPM and install it correctly but i am a little bit lost. In Mandrake, Kpackage permit choosing withch package to uninstall but i don't know where to go in Fedora.
Thanks a lot! I really want to like Linux and use it. It is a great environment.
Try installing Hylafax and gfax http://www.hylafax.org http://gfax.cowlug.org

I have installed Hylafax yesterday. It need some tuning but i think it will work alright.
IS gfax a gnome only program? I am running KDE right now.

It probably is gnome specific. Gnome specific programs run fine under KDE if you've got the gnome libraries installed. We always install both gnome and kde, then I use kde. But I can still use all the gnome programs I've ever tried.
Jeff
It is a GNOME program, but it should run under other desktops OK. A new version will be out in a day or so if you want to wait.
