I suppose you have a atapi drive (/dev/hda) as your first disk. After having installed Windows you should boot the Fedora rescue system from CD 1 (type rescue oder linux rescue on the prompt, cf. the explanation on screen). The system will find your Linux partition and mount it. On screen you will find some instructions, how to chroot to your system (i.e. making your previously installed system to the root filesystem, instead of the rescue system). If you have a seperate /boot partition, you should check if if is mounted in the correct position, too (otherwise mount it by "mount /boot"). Then install grub by typing grub-install /dev/hda
Peter
thanks

Why is is that you have to reinstall Windows?
One issue is solved by setting the disk params to use LBA not AUTO in the BIOS.
Anyhow do some searching for the dual boot interactions of Windows XP and FC2.
One rumor is that there is a bug in the way Windows set up the initial partition map. Then other tools correct that error and... things break. I am told that there is no data loss by this issue.
Summary: if dual boot and Windows XP with FC2 search the archives and bugzilla.

Alternatively, review the LWN article "Making Fedora Core 2 and Windows play well together" here:

Take note of the posts at the bottom indicating that this issue is not limited to FC2, but may in fact affect any distro using 2.6 kernels.

This is a good article thanks for posting the pointer to it.
Since anaconda on disc-1 of FC2 will be unchanged until FC3 this issue and the solution options will be important.
Does the RH-Fedora site have dynamic updates to the release notes where this sort of thing can reside.
The http://fedora.redhat.com/ has a top paragraph that indicates that FC2 is available but there is no hot link/URL to FC2 release notes in that paragraph. The download page also does not highlight a release note page as well.
Anyhow this is where I would expect to see a pointer to the release notes and updates. Is there a more obvious location that I missed.
