Compiling libical
by Armin
Hi everyone,
I'm updating my KDE svn build, and kdepimlibs doesn't build because it needs
libical 0.33. It's not available in repos so I can't just install the
-devel package. How can I compile it? It doesn't respond to cmake nor
make. All I get, is a build.sh which just makes two useless archives
(.tar.gz & .zip) which don't have anything except a few .php files and a
README which doesn't have any useful information regarding compiling it.
Does anyone here know how to compile libical? (I got the source from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/libical )
any help is greatly appreciated,

Trying to Rescue My Thinkpad T60
by potat0
Hi all. Of my three machines running F 10 beta, my T60 was the best behaving so far, until last week's updates. Now, the latest kernel does not boot, but I can manage by simply using the previous one. My main concern is with X, which stopped working at the same time.
As you may know, this T60 has an ati-radeon card, with which I was able to use Compiz since my first try of F10 beta. I just found out that rawhide reported today a new kernel that apparently addressed some ati problems, as well as a new ati xorg driver.
I would like to know if any body else has seen this problems and if the incoming updates might address them. Otherwise the T60 is perfectly functional so I would gladly wait for an update instead of a full installation. Thanks in advance for any advice.

F10Beta : how to shut off plymouth
by Beartooth
I'm running F10Beta on an EeePC 701 (a small slow very early one,
compared to later). Every kernel entry in grub.conf ends with "rhgb
quiet" -- but I still get that tiresome display instead of proper boot-up
messages. Wherein have I goofed??

What is filesystem panic?
by Per Anton Rønning
I guess I should rephrase my question about my 4GB memory stick/pen,
where the filesystem
now is set to readonly when I enter it into one of the slots.
Could anyone tell me what might have happened by taking a look at the
snip of the logfile?
I am not allowed to do anyting but reading files. I am not allowed to
delete files ,remove directires
or write to files, even if I change to root privileges.
I cannot say when this started - it just happened one time when I tried
to backup some files to the Jet Flash.
Then I got the message (one example):
cp: cannot create regular file `/media/disk/trade/statQ': Read-only
file system
Does anyone have a clue? I'd be grateful for pointers in the right
direction.

CUPS: Problem sharing USB-Printer (ADDENDUM)
by Roger Grosswiler
I have a PSC750, which is installed locally on a server - ready to
share. I can print locally on the server, but i cannot connet from a
client to this printer.
Cups replies, that i am not authorized. But i checked, everybody should
be authorized.
Is there a bug in Cups using USB-Printers? Perhaps a Problem with the
device-URI?
Thanks,
Roger

I dont remember this error from when I used mysql before.
Whats going on here, and how do I get the daemon started so I can actually
