Mobile phone
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
After updating to fedora20 I lost the option to connect to the mobile phone
network.
lsusb show: T & A Mobile Phones
usb_modeswitch and usb_modeswitch-data
are installed, but fedora does not offer me to connect to the network
asking my PIN number!
How can I fix this issue?
Thank.

I'm currently running Fedora 17, and I tried to use "fedup" to upgrade to 20. My PC has three HDD's. One has the OS, one has the swap partition and home dir's, and the last doesn't have a Linux partition.
After running fedup and restarting, GRUB comes up with the default option of "System Upgrade (fedup)". It lists a number of OK messages and then stops with these two messages:
[FAILED] Failed to mount /media/HDD.
See 'systemctl status media-HDD.mount' for details.
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Local File Systems.
systemctl status media-HDD.mount gives:
media-HDD.mount - /media/HDD
Loaded: loaded
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Sun, 05 Jan 2014 08:07:53 -06:00; 1min 5s ago
Where: /media/HDD
What: /dev/sdb1
Process: 795 ExecMount=/bin/mount /media/HDD (code=exited, status=21)
CGroup: name=systemd:/system/media/HDD-mount
Fedora 17 still runs, so it's unlikely to be a hardware failure, but for some reason it looks like Fedora 20 can't mount the drive. Can anyone offer suggestions as to what to try?
Thanks

GCL get killed everytime I try to execute it
by Lain Cortés González
Ok here's my problem: I'm trying to learn (Common) Lisp, so I installed
GCL, to compile or run the scripts that I'm making for practice; but I'm
having problems to run GCL itself, each time I try to run it it get killed
and I get an alert of SELinux, I try to solved by one of the solutions that
it suggests; but it can't find a command named checkmodule.
So if anyone knows how to solve any of the two issues, please let me know
it.

Subject: F20: Cisco vpn does not launch after a couple of wake-ups from
hibernate
Hello,
I have been having a somewhat unusual problem after waking up from
hibernate with the Cisco VPN client. This only happens with F20 -- it
was fine till F19.
Here is what happens: I switch on the Cisco vpnui using:
/opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin/vpnui
The window to connect comes on and vanishes immediately.
Not knowing what is going on, I looked at:
tail -f /var/log/messages
and here is what I get from the time the client is asked for to the
point of vanishing:

Any suggestions as to what is going wrong. I want to mention that this
is not a problem for the first couple of times the machine is woken up
from hibernation (after reboot). Also, there was not a problem with F19
(but I did go only up to the 3.11 kernel there).
The above behavior is all with an updated F20.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Ranjan

fedup experience for upgrading fedora 19 to fedora 20
by Rafnews
Hi,
after several days of testing upgrading Fedora 19 to fedora 20, i face
the same issue.
whatever Virtual machine i use (Virtualbox or VMware Workstation) the
result is always the same... after upgrading the virtual machine turns
into a black/blank screen and nothing can be done.
it doesn't machine if i install or not virtualbox tools (or vmware
toold) it's the same results.
Here are the basic features of my virtual machine
* 1 CPU / 2cores,
* 4GB RAM
* 128MB Video
to reproduce the issue:
1. launch VMWare Workstation 10 and install Fedora 19 x64 from DVD iso
2. as root, do a yum update to be sure fedora 19 is up to date
3. do a yum install fedup (to get latest version of fedup)
4. do a snapshot for fallback in case of...be sure you will need it
5. do a fedup --network 20
6. reboot after upgrade
7. ==> after booting via grub2, your virtual machine with turn into a
blank screen :(
the same issue with VirtualBox.
after that i tried yum install fedora-release fedora-update but i get
the same result.
So anybody has an idea what is the problem ?
thx.
