Does anyone know how to set up Thunderbird so a browser opens when you click on a link or is this just a bug?

"Integration with the operating system is not currently implemented. Clicking on HTTP URLs in mail messages fails to launch your default Linux browser. We hope to address this in the next release. The real question is, when will Firebird be able to do mailto: links? :)

Yes, of course! Install mozex, which adds a dialog to preferences, where you can choose, what do do with ftp, mailto etc. http://mozex.mozdev.org/ Chirstoph

I usually keep a Firebird window open underneath Thunderbird; you can drag and drop the url from the mail pane to Firebird and it will open there. Haven't tried it with other browsers. Mike

I seem to remember from the Thunderbird FAQ in MozillaZine that this is functionality waiting to be implemented (since vanilla Mozilla Mail always opens the Mozilla browser, and obviously Thunderbird had to break some links).
