# yum install php-gd # service httpd restart
Here is what I get :
root@myserver # yum install php-gd Loading "installonlyn" plugin Setting up Install Process Setting up repositories core [1/5] legacy-updates [2/5] http://download.fedoralegacy.org/fedora/5/updates/i386/repodata/ repomd.xml: [Errno 12] Timeout: <urlopen error timed out> Trying other mirror. http://213.171.201.6/Fedora/legacy-updates/5/i386/repodata/ repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 403: Date: Thu, 01 Feb 2007 16:57:56 GMT Server: Apache/2.0.51 (Fedora) Content-Length: 450 Connection: close Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Trying other mirror. What version of Fedora Core are you running? legacy-updates is not a 'standard' repo for FC4, FC5, or FC6.

FC5 i think ...
root@myserver # uname -a Linux server ...blabla... 2.6.18-1.2257.fc5smp #1 SMP Fri Dec 15 16:33:51 EST 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

The legacy repo is included in FC5 and FC6 but it is not enabled by default. The legacy project has ended and download.fedoralegacy.org is shut down now.
FC5 i think ...
root@myserver # uname -a Linux server ...blabla... 2.6.18-1.2257.fc5smp #1 SMP Fri Dec 15 16:33:51 EST 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
You should disable the fedora-legacy repo in /etc/yum.repos.d.
