Since no one else has replied.....
A few updates - I just posted a repeatable bug that occurs when I have a
SANDISK Card Reader plugged in at boot time. The SCSI subsystem
crashes, and panics the kernel. Turns out, if I do a MANUAL 'modprobe
usb_controller' after a complete boot, I can see my usb controller and
everything attached to it.
Oh, well - I was a RedHat user since 5.1; switched to SUSE when FC1
bombed, and have now been trying FC3 for a while. I LIKE the more 'open'
interfaces, the amount of traffic on the mailing lists, the fact that
Fedora's a much more 'vanilla' kernel (so that when I WANT to hack
things I can w/o learning German :-) ), and the fact that Fedora seems a
bit more up-to-date than SUSE; BUT, SUSE JUST WORKS, and I don't have
the time or inclination to do distro munging/debugging as a full-time
deal. So, it's probably back to SUSE for me........

I can't seem to get USB support working with FC3. I THINK
I've done
everything right; but I don't see any /dev/*usb*; and I can't get
anything to 'register', including a SANDISK Card Reader, a Dymo Label
printer or an HP Printer.
All this stuff USED to just be 'plug 'n play' under SUSE.
Help!
Here's (what I think are) the relevant portions of dmesg right after a
boot:

Is the 'deregistered' bit telling me something is broken? If so, what?
Thanks in advance!
