An alternate solution...
Set the Firefox window to "Always Below Other Windows". If the thing you care
about is the only thing you place over Firefox then this might solve the problem.
Thanks, Doug, for your nice idea! The only inconvenience is that I
have to minimize all windows to get Firefox, although there is a
button to do that at once.
