The results for "xhost +" is:
[user@tryps user$ xhost +
xhost: unable to open display "my.ip.address:0.0"
I dont have the "AllowTCP" line in my gdm.conf, but:
#DisallowTCP=true
Any further tips ?
Thanks, Alberto

The problem may be in gdm.conf, AllowTCP=yes may help. First try
xhost
+.
