When trying to enter Chinese characters into text via ibus in (g)vim,
LibreOffice, etc., ibus's menu of candidate characters uses a font size
that is too small (see attached screen capture), and does not match the
setting in ibus's preferences. This issue came up before, in the winter
of 2019; see this thread:
I read through the thread and checked/did what Ed Greshko and Peng Wu
suggested. I get a message that "gnome-shell-extension-prefs is
deprecated". Something has changed. How do I now get ibus to use the
larger font size that I want? If I need to install something, I ask
that it be done with dnf (apparently Fedora's preferred way of
installing and updating), not flatpaks, not gnome's "software", not (etc.).
There are two bugs relevant to ibus fonts:
but both were fixed before my winter 2019 thread.
By the way, Ed Greshko was one of the key helps in my winter 2019
thread, but I haven't seen any posts in this list recently. Is he still
with us? Is Peng Wu a member of this list?
