To clarify, look at the "Session" menu on the login screen.
If you
have both GNOME and KDE installed, you'll be able to switch between
them from there.
And to make KDE the one that is always started when you log in...
in the file --> /etc/sysconfig/desktop
put --> DESKTOP="KDE"
