A few months back, when the magazine hosting was changed up a bit, we
noticed that incoming links from start.fedoraproject.org were no longer
being recorded in the stats. It is a big referrer to the magazine, and
the stats didnt seem to be going down, so it was assumed that it was
just a reporting error by the stats plugin.
The good news is that they are showing up again! Not 100% sure why, but
they are appearing again as of sometime yesterday. :)
I just got the idea that it might be interesting for other system administrators (or website administrators)
to learn a bit more about the Varnish caching daemon.
To that end, I have written the following pitch: http://fedoramagazine.org/?p=10743&preview=true
Could I perhaps get feedback on it?
Is it a good idea, or not?
With kind regards,
I'm a member of G11n in Fedora working mainly on translations and Zanata
(platform we used for translation).
There is a suggestion in the group of seeing the possibility to get Fedora
Magazine localised to reach out more to users.
For initial investigation, few questions I would like to ask,
1) What type file format does Fedora Magazine created in? (Raw format like
txt, po, xml?)
2) What is the usual timeframe for QA on the content before it is publish?
(if localised, we might need to schedule QA for translations)
3) Is it possible to get a copy of the file for previous Fedora Magazine?
Would like to do some testing on Zanata.
After tonight's meeting, I thought it might be a good idea to outline a
good example of writing an effective pitch for any given article idea. I
took a previous pitch I wrote and tried to turn it into an example
article that we could share with new contributors to help provide
guidance for quick and easy review for new article ideas.
I'm curious to know what others of you think and whether or not this is
something that may be useful internally as a page or an article, or if
it might need revisions for something I may have missed.

there's an incomplete sentence in the descriptions of various keys....
ExecStart is the command that runs to start sshd. This replaces the
entire start function in the old initscript. The $OPTIONS variable
I think that should be something like "The $OPTIONS variable here is
what is specified in EnvironmentFile for the variable OPTIONS" or
I was a little late to the meeting today.
But it seems that with a few people out of action today, there was noone
around to participate in the meeting this week. I will craft an email
here in the list to try to cover some of the points that would have been
covered in the meeting!
sorry about the mixup all!
Today has been a crazy day, but definitely in a good way. For those of
you who hadn't seen or heard with the Magazine, we continued the trend
of breaking records with Fedora releases. Throughout the day, we
received *34,019 views* on the Magazine as a whole! I believe this puts
us somewhere 2,000 above the F22 release!
Big thanks to everyone who put in the effort for the release: mattdm,
stickster, ryanlerch, jzb, and plenty of others who put in their cycles
today - and another big thanks particularly to puiterwijk for helping
keep the site up with all of the heavy traffic today!
Looking forward to working with you all this next release cycle. :)

There's the need to enhance the get.fp.o tagline (currently "Fedora is
now more focused") as requested from websites.
Some proposals are bring up in this ticket , therefore submit your p
roposal or let's vote for one of them.
