smb:///sorry, could not display all the content......?
by chun lee
Hi there:
I have just learned how to browse my other laptop (MacOSX) in Fedora. I got
to the stage where I can display the content at
smb:///XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/chunlee
But I got a error when trying to access folders in the /chunlee. The error
says 'sorry, could not display all the content of "some_folder" '. How can I
correct this?
Also, it there a way to remember my username and password so that I don't
have to retype them whenever I make a move?
Many thanks
Yours

How to preserve users in new install?
by romildo@uber.com.br
Hello.
Currently I have Fedora Core 1 installed in my computer,
and I want to install Fedora Core 2. The problem isi
that I want to keep the same users that there is now.
Is there a way of backing up what users exists now and
their private data, and restore them after installation?
Note that I do not want an upgrade, but a new install
of the OS.
Is it enough to backup /etc/{group,passwd,shadow} and
/home/* before installation, and restore them afterwards?
Will the users will be back and functional after that?

subversion-1.0.4-1
by Andrew Gormanly
It seems the latest subversion RPMS, released last night, are broken.
The i386 binary of 1.0.4-1 can't find libcom_err.so.3, which used to be
packaged in krb5-libs under Red Hat Linux 9. libcom_err.so.2 is on the
system as part of e2fsprogs.
Rebuilding the SRPM, I get a missing libdb-4.0.la - but FC2 is on
db4-4.2. End of the build process is:
cd subversion/libsvn_subr && /bin/sh
/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/subversion-1.0.4/libtool --silent --mode=link gcc

Nautilus issues on upgrade forn FC1 to FC2
by Marc Bruggeman
Hi,
I had removed the side pane while I was still working on FC1.
Now that I have upgraded to FC2, I don´t see any option or possibility
to restore the side pane (in the Nautilus view menu I do not have the
show Side pane option !). Also the possibility to run a script is not
available in the file menu of any nautilus window I open ?!
clicking on the View > Reset view to defaults does not help/change
anything.
Can anybody give me a clue on how to get the side pane back ???
Thanks,
Marc

Xfce with FC2
by bob@brong.com
Hi,
I'd like to try XFCE, and although it says its distributed with FC2, I cant
find it within the distro. It's not found with up2date or yum (I added
livna, too). Any help would be appreciated. Does it come with FC2 or am I
crazy?
Thanks,

It does. But..
ifconfig ath0
