Similar to Gtktalog, but also DVD oriented
by Paul Smith
Dear All
I was used to Gtktalog to manage my CDs. However, with the advent of
DVDs, Gtktalog is no more suitable to me, as it does not deal with
DVDs. Is there some program similar to Gtktalog able to manage data
DVDs?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

QuickCam Express and FC5?
by Darryl Seamans
I just purchased a Logitech QuickCam Express camera and while it
works under Windows I can't get it recognized under FC5. When I run camE
it tells me /dev/video0: no such device, even though it exists and has
81,0 as major, minor device number. I tried downloading and modprobing
quickcam drivers, spca5xx drivers and pwc drivers and they load but to no
avail. camstream doesn't know the device and won't give me any video. I am
running core 5, 512MB ram, 80GB HD with USB 2.0. Toshiba Satellite PC.
Anyone else gotten the QuickCam Express working under FC5? Thanks in
advance.

compiz on fc5
by Kazimieras Vaina
Hi,
I found an unofficial yum repo with xgl and compiz:
http://users.telenet.be/quenta/repo/
I installed all packages from there, but Xgl failed to start. It says
that "function not implemented" or something like that. I suspect that
mesa packages shipped in fc5 are not compatible with xgl...
Anybody using this repo ? I'm too lazy to compile it from source.

Triple boot:XP,ubuntu&FC5 grub failed
by Gayal
I was using Win XP with FC5 and wanted to install Ubuntu as well.
So i deleted the FC5 partition (just for the fun of doing it) and installed
ubuntu straight from the live cd V6.10.
And my laptop dual booted perfectly with XP.
After that i installed FC5 and during the creation of boot loader i added XP
and Ubutu as well from there respective partitions.
But then triple boot failed.
This is the message i get when selected ubuntu from Fedora Core 5 Grub Menu
-----------------------------------
Booting 'ubuntu'
rootnoverify (hd0,6)
chainloadre +1
Error 13: Invalid or Unsupported executable format.
Press any key to continue
so how can i fix this problem and tripple boot my laptop.
my file systems are as follows:
XP - NTFS
ubuntu - reiserfs
FC5 - Ext3

What is the language "British"?
by Timothy Murphy
I was installing FC-5 yesterday,
and I noticed that when asked to choose my language,
I was given an extensive list which included "British" but not "English".
I never heard this language described as "British" before.
